My name is Dr. Garrett Conlan,
and I'm the newest dentist here
at Central Texas Dental Care.
I've been here for just under one year.
Grew up having a great experience
going to the dental office,
and the orthodontist
was a great experience for me as well.
Had some fillings
and wisdom teeth taken out,
and braces as a kid.
I was one of the kids
that enjoyed going to the dental office.
Just as I grew up and matured
and realized that I wanted
to be in a profession to help people.
I knew I enjoyed working with my hands.
It's a pretty common thing
that dentists enjoy doing.
Those two things married together.
I like the sciences.
All those things combined together.
I fell into dentistry,
and once I got to college,
started shadowing dental offices
and saw what an immense impact
dentistry can have in patients' lives,
and saw some
pretty life-changing procedures done,
and that really inspired me to continue
to pursue a career in dentistry.
Here we are almost a year in,
and I've been loving it.
